Chairs, chairs, chairs (25 years TASCHEN - special edition!)
Defined to be a chair with backrest in dictionaries, the chair quickened designers like no other furniture. Every special curve in the backrest, a certain twist of the legs or the shape of the seat shell - every detail reflects the time it was created.
From Gerrit Rietveld and Alvar Aalto over Verner Panton to Eva Zeisel, from Jugendstil up to Pop-Art and Postmodernism: The phenomenon "chair" earns a completely own dictionary. TASCHEN combines all of them - Thonets Bugholzmöbel, Marcel Breuers Wassily-chair and Ron Arads guard armchairs. Biographic texts and historic backgrounds about chairs and their maker complete this "must-have" for Design-Fans and collectors.
An indispensable collector's piece for design enthusiasts!
