One of the legendary wristwatch classics out of the Georg Jensen design-collection is Vivianna from the Swede designer Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe. In memory of the time, when she was inspired for her first bracelet watch, Vivianna once said:

”At that time watches were only chronometer – time-measuring objects, which ones recovered the people all the time. I wanted to free people from the enslavement through time; I wanted to create a watch that reminds us of the life we are living right now, in the present. This is why I designed a watch with a mirror dial, without numbers and with a simple second pointer. A watch that should not make us prisoners of the time – but in contrast: free us. Maybe it is possible to shape a watch so that one realizes the now and here more intensively. The watch is an object that has no end and symbolizes that we are not deemed to be attracted to time. And the mirror-like dial calls into our conscience, that life takes place here, just in this moment”

In the year 1969 began the cooperation of Georg Jensen and Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, whose original design for the „bracelet-watch“ was adapted. This is how Vivianna advanced to the most successful watch from the Georg Jensen Collection. Along the years, different versions summarized this original one: beside the simple steel edition there is one with brilliants, one black version with golden pointers and a version made out of 18 karate gold.

The Vivianna wristwatch is a Swiss-made stainless steel watch that has a stainless steel bangle instead of a conventional bracelet. The opening of the wristwatch takes place through a pressing and unhooking of the bracelet. If the watch housing is swung aside, the bracelet can easily be placed on the wrist and the hook reinserted, to close it.

The Vivianna watch consists oh sapphire crystal-glass and a mirror dial. The housing of the clock has a diameter of 34 mm. Moreover Vivianna is also available in a smaller variant with a diameter of 27 mm (Modell 326). The arm-bangle is available opened or closed for four different wrist sizes.

• The watch is water resistant to 6 bar and can therefore be wore while showering, but not while swimming. However, we suggest you to take the clock off before showering because soap, perfume and so, could have disadvantageous effects on the function of the watch.
