Refreshing functional

The salad bowl and the matching salad servers were designed in 1998 by Carina Seth-Andersson for the Finnish manufacturer Iittala.

Cool, minimalist design which always considers form and function is the visible philosophy in Seth-Andersson’s creations. The Iittala salad bowl is made of two layers of stainless steel. The air in between has an insulating effect. It assures a salad’s freshness and furthermore helps keeping the temperature of warm meals.

This attitude to practicality and utility becomes also viewable in the Salad Servers. The long handles weren’t designed that way for nothing: they avoid falling into the bowl.

The high quality birch wood out of which the servers were made, have been treated with warmth so that they are protected from humidity.
