Photography of the Unité d'Habitation in Marseille

The photograph Marseille shows a section of the roof of the residential building Unité d'Habitation also called 'housing machine' , which was built between 1947 and 1952 by Le Corbusier. The housing complex was conceived as an urban utopia and was intended to bring together living, working, shopping, schooling and other functions and facilities of daily life in one central location. On the upper floors, for example, there are shops and even a hotel is integrated into the complex. In addition, there is a walkable roof on which, among other things, a kindergarten, a sports hall and also an open-air theatre were built, which can be seen on the poster from Paper Collective .

architecture photography

The print is part of the Architecture Series curated by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen (Norm Architects), which includes photographs by various artists. Marseille was shot by the Portuguese photographer Guilherme da Rosa.

Printed on certified paper

Paper Collective always gives a portion of the proceeds to charitable organizations chosen by the designer himself. In the case of Guilherme da Rosa, a portion of the proceeds goes to a project that supports the construction of a new school in Nepal. The company also focuses on environmental compatibility and sustainability in terms of production, so that all posters are made in Denmark and have been awarded the Eco-Label Swan. The poster is an offset print on 250 g FSC® certified paper in photo quality.
