The AM05 Hot + Cool by Dyson works with the Air Multiplier technology, which sucks the air in and reinforces it completely without the common rotating blades. The Air MultiplierTM technology of the AM05 heats with wide reach and warms the whole room quickly. The device can also be used as a fan in the summer thanks to the enormous air suction and realisation with high velocity. A balanced air stream ensures pleasantly cool air. The AM05 Hot + Cool moreover has a slim and straight-lined shape that only requires a little space.
What is Air Multiplier Technology?
Common fans release air in irregular, sudden intervals, since they cut the air with their blades. The Air Multiplier technology reinforces the primary air stream and therefore releases fast and regular cool or warm air.
Contrasting to common ventilators, the Dyson AM05 Hot + Cool furthermore omits rotating ventilator wheels, which normally must be protected by grids or heating elements from outside. This way, the heater and fan is safe – even for children. The missing grid moreover has the consequence that the Dyson ventilator and heater is noticeably easier to clean.
The power of the air stream of the AM05 Hot + Cool is steplessly adjustable by the included remote control. The fan includes a turning function (rotation in a 70° angle) and the motor is absolutely energy efficient without a carbon brush.
And this is how the Air Multiplier technology works: The air is accelerated by a narrow slot in the air ring of the ventilator. This is how a ring-like air stream grows. It is lead across an inclined plane that is shaped like a wing in order to channel the direction of the air stream. Additionally, the surrounding air is suctioned and reinforced many times.
