As if it had always existed: the simplicity of the Vitra Wood Table appears familiar at first glance. Nevertheless, the design of the solid wood table is from the year 2014.
The Wood Table is an elegant, unobtrusive table made of solid wood whose structure gains its greatest possible stability with only a minimum input of constructive elements. The table stands out due to its archetypal shape and its harmonious proportions and appears as an old, well-known friend at first sight. Thanks to the designer Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby who created the fascinating design of the Wood Table for the manufacturer Vitra in 2014.
Nevertheless, the Vitra Wood Table is absolutely unique: its massive, (in a cross-section) oval legs are connected with strong aluminium bridges in width which provide stability and safeguard the frameless solid wood table top against deformation.
The curved edges at the bottom of the table top are not only just a gesture for the comfort of the user. Depending on the viewing angle, the table top appears especially slim and thus, highlights the elegance of the design. This design characteristic is also used for the Wood Bench which explains why the two designs make a perfect match together.
The Vitra Wood Table is 90 cm wide and on request, it is also available with the length of 220, 240 and 260 cm as well as in a further variant made of American Walnut.
