Sculptural Cheese Grater
The Forma parmesan grater, designed by Zaha Hadid for Alessi, consists of a practical, black cheese rest and a polished stainless steel grater. Pebbles, polished by water and wind, served as a model for this organic shape. The round grater looks rather small in comparison to the impressively shaped part made of black melamine resin. This element serves as an elegant surface on which the piece of cheese can be placed. The curved, organic shape means that the kitchen accessory is not only handy but also acts as a sculptural design object for the kitchen.
Area for the Grated Cheese
The cheese is rubbed over a surface with different sized holes and then falls into the interior of the small stainless steel case. This can easily be opened and emptied. The cheese is thus collected in the Forma cheese grater and can be properly scattered over the food without making a mess.
