The Audo Peek Table Lamp was designed by the Swedish designer Jonas Wagell. The table lamp has many practical features, such as a dimmer and a tray.
Originally, the floor lamp was supposed to complement a sofa that Wagell had designed several years ago. “I find that floor lamps are often very large and quite dominant in interior decoration,” explains the designer. “I needed a lamp which was small and humble and simply “popped up” where light was needed. The Peek Lamp has a heavy base with a long slender stand and a shade which elegantly peeks over the back of a sofa or armchair.”

In shape and silhouette, the Peek Table Lamp corresponds with those of the floor lamp, just reduced in size. The lamp by Audo can be used as a reading lamp, desk lamp or bedside table lamp. The base of the table lamp has a concave top, which serves as a bowl for desk accessories, earphones, jewellery or other small items, and the top of the stand is used as a dimmer.
Jonas Wagell says of his design: “Although the shape is the result of a functional requirement, I find that it’s important for the lamp to have personality and individual expression. I want to create simple objects and products that are easy to understand in an intuitive way. In essence, the Peek Lamp consists of just three parts: base, stand and shade. The form is reduced to the bare essentials and the expression is iconic.”
