Designed in 1959 by Prof. Peter Raacke, the mono-a cutlery revolutionized the tables all over the world. By avoiding any design elements, which used to belong to the exuberant embellishment in earlier days, Prof. Peter Raacke created a milestone on the way to modern industrial design of everyday objects.
At the beginning, mono-a was punched out of a single piece of stainless steel, a so-called monoblock; therefore this demonstrative name. Today the knife consists of two kinds of steel: the handle is made of rustproof stainless steel, the blade of high-quality hardened steel. In 1959 this cutlery was classified as avant-garde, but nowadays it is a real classic because mono-a combines noble design with the highest processing quality.
Numerous awards and exhibitions at home and abroad popularised the mono-a cutlery. Today it is considered as the most sold German design cutlery of the post-war era.
In this category you can find cutlery for the coffee table – dessert forks, coffee spoons and a cake shovel from the mono-a cutlery series.
