With Misses Flower Power, Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitlet have created a floor vase in oversized dimensions. With a height of 167 centimeters Misses Flower Power is more a decoration object than a classic vase, despite the fact that an insert enables its usage for plants and flowers.
Background of the Misses Flower Power Floor Vase: it was the desire of Philippe Starck and Kartell to create an oversized object that reaches colourful effects with strong visual acting. For this aim, Kartell used a manufacturing method that hasn’t been tested until then: the rotation molding method has been used for the first time with transparent polycarbonate for the Misses Flower Power. This enabled the manufacturing of the vase and the integrated insert out of one piece.
Misses Flower Power is available in a transparent or dyed thorough polycarbonate. Kartell itself describes the irregular surface of the floor vase as “glass effect in the Vintage style”. The seamless insert of the Vase is suitable for soil and water and thereby as well for flowers. The round base from Misses Flower Power ensures secure stand and is adapted to the vase’s corpus regarding its colour.
The French designer Philippe Patrick Starck is deemed to be the pop star under designers. He was born in the year 1949 in Paris and like no other he has coined the contemporaneous everyday culture with his design. Designer Philippe Starck
