Alvar Aalto

Alvar Aalto (1898-1976). Born in Kuortane, Finland. Thanks to his original style and his unique talent, Alvar Aalto ranks among the greatest names of modern architecture and modern design.

In the course of his long career, he designed several buildings all over the world: concert halls, libraries, hospitals, museums and private house, including the villa Mairea. His furniture and his lamps, which he often designed as part of these buildings, still belong to the product range of the Finnish company Artek.
