MP01 Mobile Phone - a Mobile That’s Just a Phone
With the MP 01 you can make calls and send text messages - nothing more. Though in the best quality. Under this guiding principle, Punkt has developed its MP 01 mobile phone.
Instead of a smartphone that gets more and more complicated, designer Jasper Morrison, director of design at Punkt., tries to restore the balance between the user and technical device. Petter Neby, CEO and founder of Punkt., emphasises how important it is to consciously slow down and rediscover the essential things, and accordingly consistently freed the MP 01 mobile phone from all useless gadgets, like status updates, shrill ring tones and everlasting notifications.
Phone for Seniors - Large Buttons, Reduced to the Basic Functions
As a counterweight to the now widespread throw-away mentality, the MP 01 was designed with high-quality components for long, sustainable use. The monochrome surface of the casing is fitted with a high-quality camera varnish and super thin, non-breakable Gorilla glass. Not only for the environment conscious is the MP01 mobile phone the device of choice - it’s also the ideal mobile phone for the elderly. The large, round buttons mean they can’t be missed, and are characterised by a clearly perceptible pressing point. The quality mobile is wonderfully easy to handle and the 2-inch LCD display is highly readable even when placed on the table.
In addition to the week-long battery life, the MP 01 also impresses through the active noise reduction and excellent speech intelligibility. Thanks to Bluetooth functionality, the MP 01 connects to the car or headset. The contacts are synchronised on PC or Mac. The MP01 also offers a simple appointment planning assistant as well as a clock function. And the specially composed ring tones for the MP 01 ring tones come from the Norwegian music artist Kjetil Rost Nilsen.
