The organic shape of the Kuukuna lamp, inspired by nature – is perfectly suitable to be used on side tables, bookshelves or every other place that demands a decorative, diffuse light source.
The simple and as well unique design of the Kuukuna lamp by Iittala spreads a friendly, minimalistic and unmistakably Scandinavian atmosphere in every room. Several Kuukuna lamps together make up an impressing light source. As table lamp, floor lamp or completely individualized, the Kuukuna lamp, minimalistic as it is, looks gorgeous switched on and off as well.
Iittala Kuukuna: minimalistic light object
The light of the Kuukuna can be adjusted individually, since the most different light bulbs fit in the E14 socket of the Iittala lamp. The lamp spreads a soft, glare-free light with its matt opal glass shade, which is suitable to be used as accent light and as ambience light.
Kuukuna was initially designed by the glass expert Oiva Toikka in 1986 and afterwards produced by professional glass-blowers in the specialized Finnish workshops of Iittala. Iittala plunged into the archives and finally decided to revitalize the mouth-blown glass lamp, only changing its size. The light object can easily be cleaned with a humid cloth. Also in our blog:
