Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt graduated from The Danish Design School in 1994. She has primarily worked with unique ceramic pieces since then. Later on she has started to work more with function and wood as main material. Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt designed the Bauhaus pendant lamp for Normann Copenhagen, this one is also made out of wood.
Vibeke F. Schmidt’s philosophy says: “Geometrical forms have always been the point of departure for my work. I think construction and composition are important for the final result and I am continuously challenging myself by breaking the existing frames. I want the viewer to have an experience with the object. Then it becomes alive”.
