Traditional Company from Denmark

In 1911, Fredericia was founded as Fredericia Stolefrabrik (Fredericia chair factory) by the entrepreneur N.P. Ravnsø, who successfully managed the factory until his death in 1936. The factory got its name from the Danish town where it was founded and where it still today produces its furniture. Right from the beginning Ravnsø laid emphasis on the high quality of the materials and hired only craftsmen with extraordinary talent. This made him and his high-quality furniture in different styles famous beyond the boundaries of the town of Fredericia.

After the Second World War, Andreas Graversen, at that time hired as an architect at Fredericia, acquired the factory. He was prompted by the town of Fredericia to save the factory from bankruptcy. His only condition at that time was to hire the designer Børge Mogensen. Until his death at the beginning of the 70s, Mogensen characterised the design of Fredericia significantly and his designs are distributed by Fredericia still today. By now, Thomas Graversen, the son of Andreas Graversen, manages the company after he entered the family business in the 90s.

Until today, the company has remained true to the high standards of materials and exceptional craftsmanship. For a selected group of companies and designers that stand out from the crowd, Fredericia produces furniture and accessories that are manufactured from high-quality materials and are timeless in design, functional and perfectly formed.
