”The really innovative thing at the PH lamp is that it offers light that is glare-free and economical at the same time. It is easy enough to create glare-free light (indirect and strongly shielded light), if you can waste a part of the light, and it is equally easy to design a lamp that is highly efficient if you ignore the fact that it is really disturbind for the eyes (strong reflection, and so on), but it is an artistic work to create light that it glare-free and economical at the same time.”

The PH 3/2 Table Lamp is a member of the PH3-Shade-Product family. The series from Poul Henningsen was constructed in hectic months in the winter 1923-26 for an exposition hall in Copenhagen, named “Forum”. The PH 3 shade-system was initially a pendant lamp solution, but it fast became the initiator of other lamp sorts for tables, floors, walls and a great amount of chandeliers. As a result out of the different sizes, materials, surfaces and light sources, along the years more than thousand variants were developed. Today the series is a Scandinavian classic of the world.

And also the PH 3/2 table lamp, that spends a pleasant light, emerged like that. It is reflected by several shades, glare-free into the room, the reflections are divided by a logarithmical spiral that is placed in the burning focus of the illuminant. The shade sizes correspond to the 3:2:1 ratio – every shade makes the light amount smaller.
