Gubi

Gubi is a Danish design company dedicated to the production of furniture and lighting. The headquarters of Gubi is located in Copenhagen, including showroom. Gubi was founded back in 1967 by Lisbeth and Gubi Olsen. Since then, the company has been family-owned. In 2001 Jacob Gubi Olsen took over the management of Gubi.

The multiple award-winning Gubi Chair became for the Danish company the pioneer for the successful establishment of its own collection around furniture and lighting. Meanwhile, Gubi has participated in many projects and the design of numerous buildings.

The exclusive collections of the manufacturer are influenced by designers from all over the world. Inspired by forgotten design pieces of the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s, each product tells its own extraordinary story. The reissued creations thus combine the past and the future. The designers see themselves as treasure hunters who create the style icons of tomorrow through curiosity, courage and intuition. With this goal in mind, they travel the globe and discover hidden treasures again and again.

For Gubi, responsibility is an important value. It takes a lot of thought before a new product is created. Innovation is always a central goal in all these considerations - innovation in terms of materials, ecological aspects and design. However, before an innovative concept is implemented, many steps take place at Gubi to consider whether the ideas really have the potential to last. After all, innovations only make sense for the Gubi company if they also have a long-term benefit and make effective use of technologies and materials.
