The Spiral Ashtray is a classic of its product family. The design is from 1970 and has been produced in the Italian company Bacci. Alessi overtook the production of the ashtray not until 1986.
The design is from Achille Castiglioni and offers innovative and evident solutions for several problems. In principle the Spiral is made of a bowl and a spiral. The Spiral is at the border of the ashtray and offers the safe storing of the cigarette, so that it won't fall into the ashtray.
The spiral can be taken out to clean the ashtray, so that the bowl and also the storing area can be cleaned without any problems. The design, which is as well brilliant as beautiful, was adapted and changed in its size by Achille Castiglioni in 1986.
The Spirale Ashtray by Alessi is also available on request in a larger version.
