The Spirale Ashtray is a classic of its product family. The design dates back to 1970 and was first produced by Italian company Bacci. Only in 1986, Alessi took over the production of the ashtray.
The design was created by Achille Castiglioni and offers innovative and evident solutions for a variety of problems. In principle, Spirale consists of a bowl and a spiral. The spiral lies around the border of the ashtray and offers safe setting of cigarettes, so that they won't fall into the ashtray.
For cleaning purposes, the spiral can be taken out of the ashtray, so that the bowl as well as the deposit can be cleaned easily. The design, which is brilliant as well as beautiful, was adapted and customised in size by Achille Castiglioni in 1986.
The Spirale Ashtray by Alessi is also available in a larger version.
