Piero Lissoni designed Birillo basing on a square with rounded edges that develops into different, three-dimensional bodies. The designer himself describes this form as an “incomplete square or a completely abortive round shape”. The combination of the materials stainless steel and synthetic (PMMA) also ensures appealing contrasts in appearance and touch.

Piero Lissoni was born in 1956 in Seregno, Italiy. After his architecture studies in Milan did he work as a designer for Molteni and Lema. In 1986 he founded in cooperation with Nicoletta Canesi the Milan studio "Lissoni Associat". Designer Piero Lissoni
