The Gräshoppa table lamp appeared in the installations of Greta Magnusson Grossman for the first time in the late 1940s and 1950s. The Gräshoppa table lamp was only produced a few times and during a very short time, as well as many other creations of the Danish American designer.
Gubi re-edited the Gräshoppa table lamp in 2013, since the rare original pieces are nearly unaffordable today. The large Gräshoppa floor lamp and the table lamp of the iconic collection embody stylish timelessness. The weightless and clear design of the Gräshoppa didn’t lose any charm along the decades.
Gubi produces the lamp’s base with integrated switch and flexible light arm out of brass. The shade of the Gräshoppa table lamp is made of powder coated aluminium and it is available in many decent colours. The movable arm makes it possible to direct the light wherever it is needed, in order to avoid frontal glare. The still contemporaneously acting light is suitable as working lamp and as simple statement for good design, for example on a sideboard.
