In the late 1940s and early 1950s, the Gräshoppa table light appeared for the first time in the installations of Greta Magnusson Grossman. The Gräshoppa table lamp—as well as many other creations by the Danish American designer—was only produced a few times and during a very short time.
Gubi re-edited the Gräshoppa table lamp in 2013, since the rare original pieces are priceless. The large Gräshoppa floor lamp and the table lamp of the iconic collection embody stylish timelessness. The weightless and clear design of the Gräshoppa didn’t lose any of its charm along the decades.
Gubi produces the lamp’s base with an integrated switch and flexible light arm out of brass. The shade of the Gräshoppa table lamp is made of powder coated aluminum and is available in many tasteful colors. The movable arm makes it possible to direct the light wherever it is needed, in order to avoid frontal glare. The lamp, that is still contemporary today, is suitable both as a working light and as a pure statement for good design, for example on the sideboard.
