Classic Stackable Chair by Hansen
The classic bowl chair in a new elegance: My Chair was made by the designer Nicolai Wiig Hansen for Normann Copenhagen: a chair which is extremely harmonic.
The strict shape of the Normann Copenhagen My Chair finds its counterweight in the rounded edges and the curved waist: Design elements that ensure a warm, inviting appearance. Many decent details show the carefulness of Hansen’s design approach in “My Chair”.
Seat comfort and sustainability are thereby important for the development of the chair: The seat of the chair by Normann Copenhagen is made of veneer plywood, which is flexible and follows the movements of the body ergonomically. While the curves of the seat follow the body, the angle of the backrest is a little opener than in most other chairs. My Chair therefore offers more comfort when you lean back. Moreover the material is resistant and easy to care, so that long enjoyment of the chair is granted. The chair was honoured with the desired interior innovation award for these characteristics.
Nicholai Wiig Hansen explains: ”My aim was to design a chair of unsurpassed harmony and to approach to that hard to define quality, with which design gets to a higher level. My Chair acts familiar and new at the same time, neutral and still full of character, intimate but not dominating, simple but complex, clearly defined and drawn with curves at the same time. With other words: My Chair is a bowl chair, as it should be, according to my demands.”
My Chair perfectly suits My Table by Normann Copenhagen, which was also designed by Nicolai Wiig Hansen.
