The lounger Wogg 42 is manufactured by the Swiss company Wogg after a design from Jörg Boner. The graceful frame with the subtle conical cut feet consists of minimalist wood-cross-sections. Thanks to the optimal connections, the construction out of young ash wood is extremely stable.
The real innovation of the Wogg 42 is the upholstery which lies on the carrying construct like a blanket. Seat and backrest parts are manufactured industrially as two-dimensional pieces each one. The upholstery material between the up and down-side of the textiles is welded to one element by means of a completely new high frequency method.
The three-dimensionality of the cushioning only appears after the folding of the cover on the frame. The precisely confectioned textiles are fixed with pressure buttons; this makes it easy to exchange them.
One and a half year took the development of the Wogg 42 lounger. The designer Jörg Boner mainly worked with paper and cardboard models. This was hugely important for the workout of the patterns of the back and the armrests of the chair. The models enable the exact adaptation of the pattern to the chair and the realist evaluation of the design far away from the computer screen.
Wogg offers the Wogg 42 lounger with different coatings and colours. With the different colours it is possible to deciding change what the chair expresses. The frame can thereby be kept natural or black lacquered.
