The artificial piece of land which emerges by separating the sea with dykes and drainage ditches is called “Polder” in the Netherlands. The frame of the Polder Sofa XL by Hella Jongerius is presented as well flat and deep constructed.
Body & seat consist of polyurethane foam and polyester wool, the back cushions are filled with polyurethane chips and microfiber. The separate, flexibly introducible armrest cushions possess sand-weights. The wooden frame has a belt-upholstery.
The removable cover consists of five harmonized combinations of colours and tissue qualities, whose large buttons consist of natural materials and are fixed with high-tech cotton.
The Polder Sofa by Vitra is available in different sizes, and the XL edition is divisible for an easier transport.
