Steelcut sit the result of the cooperation of the designer Frans Dijkmeijer and the textile expert Giulio Ridolfo. The fabric which consists of two different colours creates a three-dimensional effect.
The fabric profits from the synergies of the Netherlands-Italian cooperation: Dijkmeijer’s weaving technologies and Ridolfo’s sense for colours make up a fabric, which convinces with complexity and simplicity at the same time. The demanding processing of Steelcut creates a three-dimensional surface that reminds us of small pyramids. Soft basic tones are combined with few, shiny accent colours. This is how a clever colours selection emerges, which will also fulfil sophisticated demands.
Steelcut by Kvadrat consists of 90% pure new wool and 10% nylon. This mixture makes the textile extremely robust, Steelcut resists up to 80.000 Martindale. The fabric can be cleaned with a dry cloth, steam or perchlorate and ironed by medium temperature.
Last but not least, Steelcut is environment friendly: The fabric out of the Kvadrat house was honoured with the Eco Flower seal by the EU and the Greenguard Environmental Institute approves that the air inside of rooms isn’t impaired by the textiles.
