With the Cap, Normann Copenhagen presents a functional table lamp whose seemingly playful design serves a deeper purpose.
The German design duo KaschKasch is responsible for the design of the Normann Copenhagen Cap Table Lamp. The team were inspired by the animated figure Calimero, a chick that wears a piece of eggshell on its head. It is exactly this eggshell which stemmed the idea to develop a large, semicircular lampshade for the Cap Lamp. The round shape acts as a counterbalance to the strict, geometric design.
Reading lamp and ambience lighting
The shade of the Cap Table Lamp can be rotated and inclined to provide the optimum lighting for every occasion. Entirely according to your wishes, the table lamp can then serve as a reading lamp with direct light or provide an atmospheric ambience with indirect light.
Poul Madsen, co-founder of Normann Copenhagen, says of the Cap Table Lamp: “Although the shape of the Cap Lamp is simple and almost sculptural, the design has a lot of personality. The modern design of Cap, its well thought-out features and its expressive character - for us, it was love at first sight.”
