„Form follows function“ is what the maybe most famous design-leading phrase for designers and architects says. With just that principle in the back of the head, probably also the Finnish designer Kaj Franck shaped his design collection Teema in the year 1952.

From the manufacturer Iittala as “meaningful simplification” offered, Teema renounces every ornament and decoration and it is reduced to the essentials. Circle, square and rectangle are the base forms that already fascinated the ancient Greeks and that also Kaj Franck understood as irresistible so that he used them as topic for Teema.

Simple elegance and versatility label the dishes collection and make them a desired service in Scandinavia. Teema is frost-resistant, oven-proof and microwave and dishwasher safe. It is perfectly combinable with other dishes; this ensures a never ending range of innovative and colourful tables.

With Teema you don’t receive the “squared circle”, but therefore an undisputed classic whose geometrical forms are also viewable in numerous design museums all over the world.
