Children's furniture that makes the difference
The story of Stig Leander began in 1998, when his sister-in-law was expecting twins. This event gave him an idea: could a cradle be developed that would not only soothe the baby, but also promote its development?
As an experienced blacksmith, Stig was Leander had already been involved in the development of chairs, bicycles and strollers. Now he had a vision to create a simple and functional piece of furniture that could fill a real need. In this case, it meant soothing one baby while breastfeeding the other.
Stig Leander saw something that no one had realized before. He recognized the potential of a cradle that could do something new in both its form and function. Less than a year later, the first models of the now legendary Leander Classic cradle were presented in the leading stores in Denmark.
Nowadays the company exports Leander its products to over 30 countries worldwide. Product development, administration and warehousing are located at the headquarters of Leander in Silkeborg, Denmark.
The Leander Classic cradle was developed out of a very specific need. Stig Leander had a desire to design something that would make a difference. He follows this approach in all his designs - the furniture should offer added value.
Leander is a company that designs furniture for children. But it's not just about designing furniture. It's about creating furniture that inspires children and encourages play, movement and creativity. The furniture is designed to promote children's development and at the same time make everyday life with children easier.
