Wooden Table: Indian & Scandinavian Design
The Bowl Table made of mango wood and milled steel tubes by Mater combines Indian turning tradition with the simplicity of Scandinavian design, and was designed by the Indian designer Ayush Kasliwal.
Sustainable Mango Wood
The tabletop is made from mango wood brought into the correct shape by the Kharadi, an old community of Indian turners. Mater supports and recognises traditional craftsmanship in India. Indian mango wood is also a sustainable raw material, as once the tree reaches the end of its useful life and is felled, a new mango tree is planted in its place.
Steel Table Legs
The finish used on the tabletop is a lead-free, water-based PU coating. The three table legs are manufactured from milled steel tubes which can be disassembled. The table can thus be easily transported to save space.
Colours, Wood & Materials
The Bowl Table by Mater is available in four different sizes, from small to XL. The three legs on the table are always milled steel tubes, while for the tabletop you can choose between black or sirka grey stained or natural mango wood.
Maintenance
Wipe the surface only with a moist, lint-free cloth. The tables shouldn’t be treated with soap or other cleaning agents.
