The Kelim Rug Borders by Trine Andersen is a robust carpet from ferm Living that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Kelims have been decorating the walls and floors in the Near East for thousands of years and are a popular element for creating cosiness in a room.
Just like the traditional Kelim carpet, the ferm Living variant is also handmade, which is why each carpet is unique. The weaving technique is called "Punja" and is one of the oldest weaving techniques in the world. The weaving varies slightly from carpet to carpet depending on the person who woven the carpet. There may also be small colour differences between different carpets, as the wool yarn is hand dyed. The wool used is certified by Woolmark.
But it was not only the weaving technique that inspired Far Living, the design also corresponds to the traditional carpets: geometric shapes and natural colours characterise the design of the hand-woven textiles. The pattern of the Kelim Rug Borders shows straight lines, which in their combination result in new shapes and surfaces.
The Kelim Rug Borders from ferm Living is available in three different sizes.
