The designer Nani Marquina observed the sorting of different wool fibres in different colours during one of her many trips to India. This visual experience inspired the designer for the Cuadros carpet. One of the first and most representative designs by the Spanish carpet company nanimarquina.
Altogether twenty different colours form the bright chessboard pattern of the Cuadros carpet. The allegedly random pattern follows a specific sequence, so that the colour fields are deliberately positioned to create a harmonious colour sense.
