These double-walled Pavina glasses were developed by designer Masato Yamamoto for Bodum. The glasses are in three product lines: CANTEEN, PAVINA and ASSAM. The glass series CANTEEN and PAVINA were awarded the Red Dot Design Award.
These double-walled glasses have a lot of advantages in comparison with conventional single-wall glasses:
- hot drinks can be held in the hand without a handle
- cold drinks don’t build up condensation on the glass surface and
- the drinks stay warm or cold for longer than in single-wall glasses
You assume that the inventor of stemmed glasses was inspired by the idea of wine hovering in the air. The double-walled glasses by BODUM are another way to make your drink “hover”.
