Marimekko - Alku Storage tin

The storage tin from Marimekko is made of white stoneware and features the Alku motif with stringing, bean-shaped ornaments. The tin has a cork lid, which is both a great addition in terms of colour and is particularly practical when it comes to storing small items or utensils. In addition to its functionality, the storage box is also an elegant decorative element that adorns the kitchen counter, the chest of drawers or the shelf.

Alku embodies a ritual used to describe onomatopoeically the seeds natural phenomena. This traditional form of music is a component of shamanistic beliefs and the namesake of the pattern, which was designed by Aino-Maija Metsola in 2008.
