Playful Table Lamp with Long Cable
The Filo table lamp by Andrea Anastasio for Foscarini is the result of a playful and conceptually new interpreation of the individual components of a lamp - lightbulb, power cord and lamp frame.
The designer is fascinated by the study of the poetics of conceptual art and its potential to produce convergence to industrial design.
Unconventional Design Approach
In the reversal of the roles and functions, a long, coloured textile cable becomes the decorative element, which combined with mouth-blown glass balls is reminiscent of an elegant necklace.
The cylindrical porcelain diffuser, which houses the lightbulb then forms the end of the cable. The conspicuously designed cable with lighting is simply suspended to a metal light fixture with an hook to complete the composition of a table lamp in an unconventional way.
Art Object and Mood Lighting
The decorative design of the lamp is a special eye-catcher with a twist, becoming an art object in the room thanks to its fine selection of materials. The diffuse light acts as ambient lighting, allowing the glass objects to be illuminated thanks to its downward directed set-up.
