balconisimo is an innovative designer plant container for balconies manufactured in Germany. It has nothing in common with the common window box:
it is one of the largest of its kind with approx. 80 cm length and a capacity of about 10 L of potting mix. It can be hung off of nearly any kind of balcony balustrade with its innovative attachment (whether round, edged, flat, concrete, brick – important though: up to 110 mm thick).
The most important innovation will delight all the balcony owners who don’t have enough time to take care of their plants daily: balconismo has an integrated watering system:
the planter’s tank holds about four litres.
balconismo is manufactured in a rotational moulding process:
this means that unlike the above ‘Made in China’ products which are produced by machines in their thousands, only 15 boxes leave the factory per day with a not inconsiderable amount of professional preparational and subsequent work by hand.The design by Michael Hilgers (known for his frequently imitated ‘Cutting’ balcony flowerpot, amongst others) takes urban gardening seriously: sustainability, short routes in production (made in Brandenburg / Germany) and innovative functional design distinguish balconismo from typical planting boxes.The plastic window box is available in multiple colours.
