Created by the design director of the company Menu, Pernille Vea, the Cone bird feeder string is a decorative and refreshing alternative to the traditional feeding table for garden birds.

The feeder string consists of two conical frosted glass weights linked with a soft black rubber cord.

There is a matt-glass-solder at both ends of the cord out of black rubber, surrounding a hard plastic-bar. If apples and other foodstuff are fixed around the cord, the glass-solder has to be removed with a slight pulling. A bar shows up then that can simply be passed through the food. The glass solder can be placed on it again, and the Cone bird feeder can be suspended again.

The cord has hard plastic tips, making it easy to thread balls or other foods, such as apples, onto the cord. The feeder string can be wound around the branches of bushes and trees or hung from fences and posts. The materials are weatherproof.

The feeder string was awarded the Formland Prize in 2002 and has just been awarded the reddot design award 2003.
