This lightweight Pienet Elokuun Varjot shopping bag from Marimekko is the perfect companion for a trip to the supermarket. It also stows wonderfully in other (hand) bags, so it is always handy. The shopping bag is printed in Helsinki. Basically, they are sewn over the entire width of the fabric, which is why the appearance may vary slightly from the product images. Each piece is therefore intentionally unique.
Designer Maija Louekari was inspired by her own overgrown garden for the 2020 Elokuun varjot (August Shadows) print. Louekari is fascinated by the changing seasons of the north - the new beginnings - and the lush growth that follows year after year. This pattern is an ode to greenery, freedom and warm winds.
