Pillowcase in exciting stripe design
The Kalasääski cushion cover from Marimekko is a visual highlight on every sofa and every armchair. It is made of 100% unbleached cotton and has a hidden zipper on one of the sides.- The cushion cover can be combined with other products of the Kalasääski -series or can be used as a decorative stand-alone for discreet accents.
For the production of the cushion covers, the fabric is used with its entire width. Therefore, there may be slight deviations in the pattern, which, however, make each piece unique.
The Kalasääski design takes the stripe design and executes the geometric aesthetic in a new way. The design showcases the art of freehand patterns of vertical and diagonal stripes and is named after the osprey (in Finnish Kalasääski ). The color execution as well as the arrangement of the lines are reminiscent of a bird in flight position. The design was created in 1962 by Maija Isola.
