Cotton pillowcase with paper cut design
The Pyykkipäivä Pillowcase from the Finnish house Marimekko is a great eye-catcher with its rhythmic pattern. The cover is made of cotton and has a zipper. Pyykkipäivä Is sewn over the entire width of the fabric, so the cover may vary slightly per article. Each cover is therefore unique.
Summer paper brush design
Pyykkipäivä (in German: Wäschetag) gives rise to summer feelings. The pattern is reminiscent of freshly washed laundry fluttering in the wind outside. Jenni Tuomien was inspired by the aesthetics of the laundry day and drew the shapes of the pattern on a piece of paper, cut them out, painted them with opaque paint and let a rhythmic pattern emerge. Delicate brushstrokes are paired with the technique of cutting paper.
