Pillowcases with striped pattern and fringes
The Silkkikuikka cushion cover by Marimekko is available in different designs: either in pure cotton or in a cotton/linen blend, with or without fringes and in different colours. But the cushions have one thing in common: they are decorated with the Silkkikuikka pattern by Maija Isola, a motif of seductive rhythm and simplicity.
"I danced with brushes," says Maija Isola. In 1961 she spent many evenings and nights in Marimekko's print shop - painting with soft, sweeping brushstrokes in time with the music.
The covers have a concealed zipper on one side.
Note
Marimekko's cushion covers are sewn across the entire width of the fabric, so their appearance may vary slightly. Each piece is unique. The cover with the light blue stripes has been printed with natural indigo, a plant dye extracted from Finnish woad. The colour may fade slightly with the first few washes and use.
