Towel in striped design
The Kalasääski towel from Marimekko shows that striped designs have a timeless component and do not go out of fashion. In an aesthetic arrangement, the stripes are an eye-catcher in the bathroom and even decorate it when rolled up in a beautiful, modern wire basket. Made from 100% cotton, the towels are gentle on the skin and will not irritate sensitive hands. The towels from Marimekko have an unpatterned, monochrome border that rounds off the design.
The Kalasääski design takes the stripe design and executes the geometric aesthetic in a new way. The design showcases the art of freehand patterns of vertical and diagonal stripes and is named after the osprey (in Finnish Kalasääski ). The color execution as well as the arrangement of the lines are reminiscent of a bird in flight position. The design was created in 1962 by Maija Isola.
