Vitra Eames RAR rocking chair with plastic seat shell
The Plastic Armchairs were first presented in 1948 as part of the "Low Cost Furniture Design" competition of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The organically shaped seat shell made of glass fibre reinforced plastic was later combined with various undercarriages, such as the rocking runners of the RAR, and produced millions of times. In their current version made of polypropylene, the armchairs offer even greater seating comfort.
The Eames RAR rocking chair from the Eames Plastic Armchairs from the Vitra Home collection is available in various colours.
Please note: Vitra has adapted the dimensions for RAR 2019. Until now the seat height was 33 cm. Additionally the dimensions of the runners (81 cm) and the width (63 cm) have changed.
