iF product design award 2010

„Good shaping doesn’t come out of marketing, but is made by the designers“: the jury of the iF product design award 2010 awards 778 of 2486 presentations with the renowned iF seal of approval.

Once again exciting jury days ended in Hanover: out of 2486 presented products from 1016 participants out of 39 countries, the jury of the iF product design award 2010 selected its 778 favorites.

The jury professionally estimated the design quality of the presented products in 16 categories noticing that design counts as value creation factor in times of economy and danger – setting trends for many of the evaluated products. “Good design is not born by marketing, but by designers”, is what the jury president Fritz Frenkler said.

The one out of the 778 winners that can take one of the 50 iF gold awards for the best of the competition on the CeBIT, on the 2nd March 2010, is only revealed on the day of the awarding.

General information about the iF Award:

Since more than 50 years, the iF Industrie Forum Design e.V. is based on the fairground of Hanover. Originated out of the “special show of shapely industrial products” 1953, the e.V was fulfilled in the year 2001 with the iF International Forum Design GmbH, which is responsible for all business fields since then, especially for the event of the awarding of the iF award.

iF has deciding communication skills between design and economy as independent institution and takes this duty serious since a few years. This creates an important part of the success of design in economic contexts as well as for the consciousness raising of public rooms.

iF stands for reliable and serious service at the border between design and economy since 1953. With the five iF competitions, the iF product design award, the iF communication design award, the iF material award, the iF design award china as well as the iF concept award for students, the “Industrie Forum Design e.V.” is one of the internationally biggest and most renowned design centers today.
