The Milan Furniture Fair opens ist gate from the 12th to the 17th of April for the 50th time. The organizer Cosmi sais that more than 2,700 representatives of Italian and international design, such as Kartell, Moroso, Magis and Baleri Italia, are going to expose on the Anniversary-Fair. Besides the Furniture Fair Salone Internazionale del Mobile, in this year there are the Euroluce, the Salone Ufficio and the Salone Satellite simultaneously.
Also the city Milan is being part of it: numerous cultural events offer entertainment and information. For example, every evening there is a multimedia installation named The Arbour to be seen on the Piazza San Fedele. Furthermore, in cooperation with Citroën, the Via Monte Napoleone is transformed into a kind of open-air museum: the installation from Ora Ito integrates the street and local shops, at the same time the exposition “Avverati – A Dream Come True” is presented. The Milan Furniture Fair already takes place since 1961. With growing success: width, extent and expositors number grew continuously in the past 50 years. While in 1961 “only” 328 expositors were presented on 11,000 square meters, there are 2,720 expositors on more than 200,000 square metres this year.
The Milan Furniture Fair subdivides itself in several areas: under the term I Saloni there is the international exposition for illumination Euroluce, the international Biennale for office furnishing Salone Ufficio and the talent fair Salone Satellite in this year in the Salone Internazionale del Mobile.
