The Eames Plastic Side Chair DSR (Dining Height Side Chair Rod Base) is the contemporary production of the legendary fiberglass Chair from Charles & Ray Eames out of the year 1950. It emerged in cooperation with Zenith Plastics for the “Low Cost Furniture Design” competition of the Museum of Modern Art’s and was the first industrial produced chair out of plastic.

Vitra produces the Plastic Side Chair with full upholstery as fulfill of the product series. The organic formed bowls offer an especially good comfort with the upholstery and spread a homely atmosphere. The 13 colours of the cover fabric Hopsak are freely combinable with the 8 seat bowl colours. Together with the base, numerous combination possibilities emerge. The upholstery is fixed at the seat with a strip in black or white.
