Bowl from Alva Aalto made of stainless steel
The Alvar Aalto collection by Iittala is synonymous with Finnish glass art and is one of the most famous glass objects in the world. The popular Aalto bowl is now also available in stainless steel. The bowl is modelled on the world-famous Savoy vase.
Organically shaped objects
The organic forms of Aalto's work appear again and again: in the undulating walls of the Finnish pavilion at the 1939 New York World's Fair, in the architecture of the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus, in armchairs, Spanish walls and tea trolleys. As the son of a cartographer, the idea that the shapes can be traced back to the Finnish landscapes and their lakes is obvious.
