Low futon bed
The futon bed Japan from Karup Design convinces by its minimalist appearance and the far eastern design. Inspired by the Japanese Futon and Tatami rooms, has Karup Design designed a low bed in pine wood that is modern and timeless at the same time.
Japanese tradition
The futon is the Japanese sleeping place in a broader sense. It consists of a mattress filled with cotton, which is spread out on the floor composed of tatami mats. Tatami is a mat made of rice straw, which is spread as a floor in traditional Japanese rooms and serves as an underlay for the futon. In the western world the futon is a very low, simple bedstead with a mattress, the actual futon.
The Japan Bed of Karup Design consists of a frame with eight legs, which floats about 20 cm above the floor. It is made from sustainable pine wood and is available in various finishes.
Please note: A mattress is not included in the scope of delivery and can be chosen at will and easily changed if necessary.
