Designed for Fredericia by Nanna Ditzel, one of the most important and innovative Danish designers of the 20. Century, the Trinidad chair is a timeless, stackable chair with an exciting backrest.
Seat and backrest with cutouts
The backrest and the seat were inspired by the shell shells and house facades of Trinidad and are made of curved wood with elongated grooves cut into the wood using CNC technology. When the chair was introduced in 1993, this manufacturing technique was an absolute novelty. The cutouts in the backrest and the seat play with the translucent light and allow the chair to blend in with its surroundings. The grooves also provide hours of sitting comfort because they provide permanent ventilation and keep the chair at room temperature.
The Trinidad chair is available in different types of wood in different colours. The frame of the chair is made of powder-coated or chrome-plated steel. The chair is also available in a bar stool version and a version with armrests. All Trinidad chairs by Nanna Ditzel for Fredericia are produced in Denmark.
