The Pirkka dining table comes from the eponymous furniture collection by Ilmari Tapiovaara. Designed as early as 1955, the furniture pieces are today part of the Tapiovaara Family Collection by Finnish company Artek.
Pirkka combines rustic shapes with the weightless design of the 1950s. Visually, the table exudes an unexpected lightness, despite its solid wood production, which is typical of Finnish furniture design in the mid-20th century.
Soon after his release, the Pirkka table enjoyed great popularity and became one of the most successful pieces of furniture of its time.
The Pirkka table is ideal for the dining and living areas and is characterised by high-quality, classic design and unique design language. Through its purist elegance, Pirkka suits any interior furnishing perfectly and simultaneously acts as a design highlight. With a length of 150 centimetres, the Pirkka Table offers space for multiple people too.The tabletop for Pirkka is made from solid pine wood, and the frame from birch. Both parts are available separately in the colours black, brown or honey - the wood is waxed, stained or varnished accordingly.
